At 10:30 today, the town of Ashland kicked off the festivities for the day by holding a parade through the Main Street of town. The streets were lined with children and adults. It was a gorgeous morning! The parade included a range of people and groups including marching bands, reading clubs, community centers and police. The local fire engines made a very bright (and loud!) appearance! There were also donkeys, penny-farthings, horses, trucks, classic cars, Harleys and even an ambulance or two! It was very bright and enjoyable, with people waving flags, smiling and collecting masses of sweets that were thrown from passing vehicles. A top fun filled morning! Happy Independence Day everyone!
