Walter’s Basin is a landmark in New Hampshire’s Lake Region. The restaurant was featured in the film ‘On Golden Pond’. The dining room is tastefully decorated with a fish theme. Local boaters are encouraged to come in and enjoy a meal. It overlooks Little Squam Lake, also known as ‘Golden Pond’. On Sunday evening, we decided a visit was long overdue.
The bar and restaurant are favorites for locals and visitors alike. The views are always spectacular, especially during the warmer months when long summer evenings prolong the view. For dinner, we each tried something different – Osso Bucco, stuffed Haddock and Fish & Chips. The Osso Bucco and Haddock were pleasant. The fish & chips were quite good. We recommend stopping for a drink or a casual dinner.
